3 Tips Kick Start Your Dreams 

The last two weeks I have really been focusing in on Visualisation as a tool, and how to implement visualisation into your life daily. If you haven’t already, check out the Zoetic Dawn Blog Post for a Visualisation Challenge.

Sometimes in the day to day hustle and bustle of the world, we forget to take time to focus on what we want. We go go go from place a to b to c to da never really taking a moment to just be, to just be with our self, and working towards on our goals. As I talk with others on the topic it becomes pretty clear that there is a real misconception that doing these things means you are selfish, arragant or unaware of others around you.  Today I really want to challenge that thinking.

Taking time out is essential for personal growth and development, and personal growth and development enables you to provide more love to others around you. One way to focus on your dreams is through visualisation. There are many schools of thought out there about the relevance and usefulness of visualiastion, but perhaps the most well known or certainly the most advertised in generic communication is The Secret.

Don’t get me wrong, I am a fan of The Secret, that book got me through some challenging times, and quite simply, that book also enabled me to manifest a lot in my life. But I believe The Secret is the start (which ironically can be noted with subsequent releases of books about manifesting using The Secret). The two core things that I think is missing, in an emphasized way, from The Secret is:

  1. Intent
  2. Consistency

The The Secret, and other similar visualisation techniques teach us, that to have something manifest into our life, we need only think of it as an actuality. Well, yes I believe that is true, but I also believe with a few pieces of dedicated time and effort, that we can kick start our Visualisations and see the beauty of our own creations sooner. I believe we can do that with tangiable things, that we can see, touch, hear, taste and smell that align with our goal. The more physical experiences you have, the more times your body has a physical reaction to something that aligns with your dreams, the more good vibes go out into the world.

So focusing on the two things above being intent and consistency, below are my Top 3 Tips to give the universe a kick, and set your dreams in motion.

1) Meditation/Time Alone/5 Minutes of Peace
This might sound silly, but honestly, this is probably my top tip for everything. Through self-reflective time alone, having a coffee, walking out in nature, meditating, or whatever that looks like for you, is when you really raise your intent, your vibration and open yourself up to receive the beauty that is waiting. It is in these moments of quiet that you can really set a clear intent, one which is honest, open and full of love, because it is often in these moments you are in peace. You are quiet, reflective and listening to the reply the universe replies.

Honestly, this is something that you should aim for daily. This practice is so important to your continued growth, but also so important to ensuring that you are living a life that aligns with your dreams, rather than praying for something, but acting the complete opposite. By spending time to align, you basically are setting an intent that you are serious about your dreams, you want them to come into reality, and you are committed to achieving them. It also, as I have said above, gives you an opportunity to listen to the reply, your next steps, how to succeed.

2) Planning

Now this is a major one that The Secret and I disagree on.

The Secret states that you simply state your intent, you gratefully accept it and live as though you have it. You don’t worry about the who, what, where and how it comes into existence, but you live as though you have received it already. Now I don’t know if it’s because I struggle to go from 0 to 50 in 10 seconds, or if it just my nature, but I have found that sometimes breaking those giant goals into smaller steps makes all the difference, not only at the rate which I see alignment with my desires, but also achievement of the overall goal.

It could also be because I am a planner, so not doing anything in this regard is difficult for me haha!

So, trying to stay as open as possible, it is important to note that not every tip will work for everyone. Some of my best friends work in the complete opposite fashion to me, taking things as they come. Which is amazing as it works for them, but one of my personal top tips is to plan.

But perhaps not only for the reasons you think. Yes, I like to plan, but I also don’t want to get in the way of what can happen organically. So I plan with flexibility. What I mean by that, is that I don’t plan every single step, rather I pick milestone achievements that are small scale successes on the way to my larger outcome. This allows me to celebrate the smaller wins but also to really visualize the wider outcome because I am one step closer.

3) Release Setbacks

As you head towards achieving your goals, you may, from time to time, come across challenges that present themselves. The key here is to not let these challenges define your journey. Accept that they have occurred and release them, for once they are dealt with they no longer have any control on potential outcomes.

This one can be quite challenging because it can be quite disheartening to come up against challenges, but think of them only as potholes on the journey rather than roadblocks. Challenges present new lessons, and lessons present opportunities for growth.

Don’t hold onto the challenges, don’t let them control your growth. Use them as opportunities to redefine your success, reset your intent and move on into a perhaps even bigger and better outcome.

Growth is an amazing tool to use to support achieving your dreams. Don’t be afraid to use it, but remember to release it.
