It has been a few weeks since the last challenge (you can find it here if you are interested) that I thought it was time for an update.
So I wanted to start by telling you a little story. My daughter has a sticker chart. For good behaviour she gains stickers, and for bad behaviour she has them taken off her. Once she reaches 15 stickers she gets to choose a reward.
Sometimes the reward is a thing, albeit not often is this the case. Sometimes it is a special meal, or an activity. Sometimes she just wants to go for a walk along the river…
It got me thinking this afternoon about praise, and rewards. At what point did we stop praising and rewarding ourselves for good behaviour? We are often quick to criticise our actions, but giving stickers… it my experience it doesnt happen too often.
So that’s where today’s coaching challenge comes into play.
Over the next seven days make an active effort to praise yourself for actions completed well, or “good behaviour”.
Notice how easy or difficult it is? How do your views and opinions shift, and in what ways can you reward yourself?
Nothing too big, or small, whatever feels right for you.
